Described is a flame-retardant laminate (1) composed of at least one layer of a consolidated spunbonded web (2, 2'), an optionally consolidated laid layer of glass fibres (3) and a metal foil (4). The laid layer has a thread density of more than 0.5 threads/cm, preferably 0.5 to 5 threads/cm. The spunbonded, laid and metal foil layers are joined together by a needling of about 20 - 70 stitches/cm<2>, preferably 20 - 50 stitches/cm<2>. A process for its manufacture is also described. The laminate is used for manufacturing polymer and bitumen webs, especially bituminised roofing felts and underfelts.

|
