PURPOSE:To miniaturize and make thin an optical head by mounting an integrated chip where a semiconductor laser being a light source, a photodetector and an optical element, etc., are integrated on a lens holder. CONSTITUTION:The integrated chip 20 is mounted on the lens holder 21 being the movable part of a biaxial actuator. Light emitted from the chip 20 passes through a prism 22 and is condensed on a disk by an objective lens 6, and reflected light from the disk passes through the lens 6 and the prism 22 again and returns to the chip 20. A focusing coil 23 and a tracking coil 24 drive the lens holder 21 in a focusing direction (a) and a tracking direction (b). The biaxial actuator is constructed so that the lens holder 21 slides in the focusing direction (a) and is turned in the tracking direction (b) with respect to a sliding shaft 26. By mounting the integrated chip miniaturized and made thin on the biaxial actuator, the optical head is miniaturized and made thin. |
