<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the time for setting the address of a cartridge housing body to a housing rack by reading the bar codes of cartridges in a short period of time even when a large quantity of the cartridges are charged at one time by manual labor. CONSTITUTION:This library device has the cartridge housing body 3, recording and reproducing device 2, a cartridge charging and discharging mechanism 5, an accessor mechanism section 6 for transporting a cartridge type recording medium 9, etc. A bar code reader 10 for reading the bar codes of the cartridge type recording medium 9 is provided in this accessor mechanism section 6. The reading of the bar codes of the cartridge type recording medium 9 is enabled by the bar code reader 10 when the accessor mechanism section 6 takes the cartridge type recording medium 9 out of the cartridge housing body 3.</p> |
