<p>PURPOSE:To measure the accurate temperature of a power cable in short time by attaching a thermometer capable of pulling out from the surface of the power cable positioned inside the manhole before the manhole is flooded with water after power cable connection or pull-through in the manhole. CONSTITUTION:A power cable 4 is pulled in a duct 3, and at the point of time when the connection of the power cable 4 is finished in a manhole 2, a thermometer 6 is attached to the cable with clay-form substance 7. Next, a string 8 is tied to the thermometer 6, and the end of the string 8 is tied to a preferably upper step 2. And, in the case that water gets in the manhole 1 and that the power cable 5 is submerged at the measurement of temperature after the power cable laying work is completed, the thermometer indication is read by pulling the string 8 thereby pulling up the thermometer 6. Hereby, the temperature of the power cable can be measured without discharging the water inside the manhole.</p> |
