PURPOSE:To provide an image digitizing method which improves the contrast of an image and fractionizes its density value. CONSTITUTION:When the image is digitized, the upper limit and lower limit of a digital conversion range are made to the maximum density value and minimum density value of the digitized image and the optimum upper limit and lower limit of the conversion range of a reference part narrower than the area from an initial upper limit to an initial upper limit are calculated and used to reset the reset upper limit and reset lower limit of the conversion range of the reference part; and then the image is digitized by using the conversion range which is newly set again. |
