PURPOSE:To reduce an original and to facilitate the reading on a reception side. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 11 reads the document of B4 size in a main scanning direction by the line sensor of a read processing part 12 and writes it in a RAM 13 and a line memory 17. The read processing part 12 successively reads picture data from the original in a subscanning direction. Picture data by one- page portion of the original is written in the RAM 13. Data '1' is written in the line memory 17 when a part of black data is present on each main scanning-direction line. The result of the OR operation to the subscanning direction is written for the whole of one page of the original. The part of continuity of data '0' on the line memory 17 is discriminated as a blank part; and if the blank part is sufficient, the blank part is enlarged to perform the reduction processing. |
