<p>PURPOSE:To enable the sure transmission of the information on an exchanged row to a host even if the power source of the device is interrupted during the replacement operation of cartridges. CONSTITUTION:This device has cartridge storage cells 3, an accessor control section 7, etc. A door 10 is provided near the cartridge storage cells 3 so that the direct exchange of the cartridges is enabled and the accessor control section 7 can detect the replacement operation of the cartridges. This library device is provided with a non-volatile memory 21 in the accessor control section and stores the information on the cartridge replacement into the non-volatile memory 21 when the conduction of the exchange operation is detected. The accessor control section 7 reads the information on the cartridge replacement out of the non-volatile memory 21 and reports the information to the host when the power source is interrupted and the power source is turned on again during the replacement operation.</p> |
