The connector consists of a body (1) which is made at least partially of a heat fusible material similar or compatible to the plastic material of the tubes to be joined. On the internal wall (2) of the connector (1) is embedded on its surface an electrical conductor element (3). The heating elements of this conductor (3) are not straight but are made by a knitting process to provide it with a degree of elasticity. In making the joint, the connector is slid over the butted ends of the tubing to be joined and a current is fed through the element which heats up and melts the plastic material in its proximity which solidifies on cooling. ADVANTAGE - Amount of cleaning of the joining surface of the tubes is reduced and a reliable and cheaper joint is produced.
