PURPOSE:To improve fungus resistance significantly by forming a sheath of a water soluble glass composite material containing copper or silver ions. CONSTITUTION:In a plastic out fitted cable formed by laying a sheath 5 on a presser roll 4 after a plurality of conductors 1 covered with an insulating material 2 are stranded together with an inclusion 3, the sheath 5 is formed of a water soluble glass composite material containing copper or silver ions. Thereby, since the copper or silver ions are eluted when water is absorbed and a sterilization action is performed, even if water is absorbed, the formation of a bacteria can be prevented, so that fungus resistance can be improved significantly. This effect becomes particularly effective in a cable which is formed by using a compound, into which inorganic substances such as absorbing even hygrogen chloride gas generated at a combustion time are mixed in large quantities, in the sheath 5 or the insulating material 2 and is becoming indispensable in view of preventing disasters. Since the material is not eluted in the environment as a painting chemical, it can realize an effect also in respect of environmental protection. |
