摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of flickering on a boundary part between the upper and lower parts of a high vision screen displayed on a standard type monitor screen by executing signal processing so that the boundary part becomes intermediate gradation. CONSTITUTION:AMUSE signal is converted by a deemphasis circuit 12 so that a non-linear emphasis characteristic is restored to the original characteristic and inputted to an HDTS timing generating circuit 13 and a PLL circuit 14 for generating a clock signal. A speed conversion circuit 15 converts the MUSE signal compressed at its time base and inputted from the circuit 12 into 525 NTSC system horizontal video signals and an interpolation interlacing conversion part 16 executes an arithmetic processing so that the boundary between the upper and lower parts, i.e., a part having no image data and conversion part 17 executes the interlacing conversion of the 525 video signals while extending the time base of a chrominance signal component to obtain converted NTSC system video signals. The converted Y, B-Y and R-Y signals are D/A converted through D/A converters 19A to 19C and a composite video signal is outputted through an NTSC encoder 20.</p>
