<p>PURPOSE:To maintain and improve the performance of a head by reducing the abrasion of the head of a rotary magnetic head drum device and making the contact of a tape with the head excellent regardless of the kind of the tape. CONSTITUTION:A bulge 4 is provided to protrude in the diameter direction of a fixed side drum 1 at one part of the drum 1, and provided through a piezoelectric element 5 so that the protrudent amount thereof can be adjusted. By detecting the kind of the tape and changing the protrudent amount of the bulge 4, any kind of tape is excellently brought into contact with the head 3. Humidity around the drum is detected by a humidity detecting sensor 6, and the protrudent amount of the bulge 4 is changed, thereby reducing the abrasion of the head 3 which is largely affected by the humidity.</p> |
