<p>PURPOSE:To position a tape in a short time. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a tape traveling means 10, a tape position detecting means 11, a mark detecting means 15, and a tape traveling control means 16. The means 16 controls the means 10 to make the tape 1 travel at high speed and stop so that a mark 12 on the tape 1 may pass the means 15. During such operation, the means 15 detects the mark 12 and the means 11 detects the traveling position of the tape 1. The means 16 controls the means 10 based on information on a 1st tape position detected by the means 11 when the means 15 detects the mark 12 and a 2nd tape position detected by the means 11 when the tape is stopped so that the tape 1 is made to travel from a stop position in a reverse direction while its speed may be controlled and the mark 12 may be stopped at the 1st tape position.</p> |
