The aerial includes an aerial rod (2), one end of which is attached to a support (5) by a base (5a). The aerial includes a foot (4a) fitting over the projecting part (4b) of the support. An elastic link (19) surrounded by a support spring (7) joins the foot to the other section (6) into which the aerial rod is fitted. The aerial rod base fits into a socket provides (8a, 8b) in line with the axis of the rest of the structure. An alternative mounting (8a', 8b') is also provided allowing the aerial to be fitted on a different angle. ADVANTAGE - Aerial may be fitted in one of two positions, for carrying on man's back, or use on ground. Final orientation left to user.
