Method for utilising the heat energy produced by halogen tubes in ovens, heating units, chick rearing units, yoghurt prodn. units, pizza ovens etc., comprises providing a double sepd. wall to the units with insulating material between the walls to reduce heat loss and thus to give a good ratio of (utilisable heat energy):(electricity consumed). USE/ADVANTAGE - The double insulation improves the electricity consumption efficiency of units heated by halogen tubes by minimising heat losses in a wide range of units including cookers, ovens, incubators etc., and is applicable to fixed units or to mobile units such as warming ovens and cookers in aircraft, trains, etc.
