<p>PURPOSE:To lighten a working burden imposed on an operator in the case of replacing a cartridge and to improve the processing efficiency of an entire system by automatically loading a necessary cartridge in one magnetic tape driving device as one terminal machine of an information processing system and automatically unloading it at the time of finishing accessing processing. CONSTITUTION:A hand mechanism 19, a cartridge loading/unloading mechanism 20, and a cartridge moving mechanism are provided. Only by housing plural cartridges 1 where necessary information is previously stored in a magazine 12 and setting the entire magazine, the necessary cartridge 1 is automatically loaded in the magnetic tape driving device 9 according to a command from a host computer. At the time of finishing the accessing processing to the cartridge 1, the cartridge 1 is automatically restored to an original rack in the magazine 12. One auxiliary cartridge 14 is set in a case 13 undependently of the magazine 12.</p> |
