PURPOSE:To provide a superconducting device having a quench detecting function capable of accurately, repeatedly detecting quench of the device with a high voltage generated in a superconducting coil at the time of quenching. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting device having a quench detecting function comprises a superconducting coil 3, a persistent current switch 4, a first detecting element 1 for detecting a variation in a magnetic field formed of a current flowing in a closed circuit to detect quenching of the coil, and protecting means 7 for protecting the coil by reducing a current flowing to the coil. Thus, the quench can be accurately detected many times without burning-out a voltage line at the time of quenching. |
