PURPOSE:To reach a predetermined sulfuric acid specific gravity and liquid quantity with small fluctuation just after forming a battery jar by preparing a plate group by containing a conductive substance in an unformed active material of a positive plate and by forming a lead sulfate layer in a surface layer of a unformed active material of a negative plate, and injecting an electrolyte of low specific gravity necessary for a completed battery in the battery jar. CONSTITUTION:A specific wt.% particulate of carbon black, given conductivity by kneading lead powder with dilute sulfuric acid and water, is added, and a lattice of lead alloy is charged with this paste to form an uniformed positive plate by aging, drying etc. Next in a negative plate, the lattice is similarly charged with a material, formed into a paste state by kneading together lead powder, organic additive agent and dilute sulfuric acid with water, to perform aging and drying. Thereafter, this negative plate is immersed in sulfuric acid of specific gravity, for instance, 1.30, to form a lead sulfate layer from a surface layer over to an internal layer. This negative plate is dried to obtain an unformed negative plate. These unformed positive and negative plates are combined to obtain a block battery, and a completed battery of small fluctuation is obtained. |
