PURPOSE:To provide a discharge lamp lighting device easy to show its life end and bard to cause inconvenience to a user. CONSTITUTION:A pull string for controlling the lighting state of a discharge lamp is mounted on a luminaire body, and a pull handle provided with the light emitting diode LED of a life terminal display means 14 is mounted on the top end of the pull string. When a discharge lamp FL reaches the life end, and the voltage of the discharge lamp FL is raised, a Zener diode ZD is ON, and a transistor Q2 is ON to light the light emitting diode LED of the life terminal display means 14. Since the light emitting diode LED is thus mounted on the pull lug, a user can recognize its life end at every lighting control of the discharge lamp FL. Since the discharge lamp FL is not flashed nor extinguished, no inconvenience on use is caused. |
