The system has a main chamber (12) mounted on a supporting carriage (10) which can be moved along the length of the plant above a grating (3) situated over a pit (10 kept at low pressure. The system has a strip (17) covering a lengthwise feed channel (8) adjacent to the pit, a blower (9) to deliver air to the channel (8), and a vertical sleeve (13) which is connected to the carriage (10). The sleeve has a lateral aperture which is linked to the interior of the main chamber, and the strip is lifted inside the sleeve by means of a system of transverse rollers (18) so that is passes above the lateral aperture and connects the feed channel (8) to the main chamber (12). The strip (17) is has a seal system which counterbalances the rising force in the sleeve due to the pressure in the feed channel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Reduced dimensions, especially suitable for cleaning air supply in working area of solvent vapours and toxic gases.
