The invention relates to a cylindrical roller bearing consisting of an outer race (1), an inner race (4) and cylindrical rollers (3) guided between them in a cage (2, 15), which cage (2, 15) is guided so as to rotate freely in an annular groove (5) of the outer or inner race (1, 4) and has several recesses (8) for cylindrical rollers (3) distributed over the entire circumference on its inside or outside diameter. The cylindrical roller bearing is distinguished in that the cage (2, 15) takes the form of a one-piece ring and slides and is guided on its circumferential surface towards the annular groove (5). The partial radius (R1) is, in relation to the centre of the bearing, smaller or larger than the radius (R2) bounded by the end of the webs (9) of the cage (2, 15). Owing to this cage design, higher dynamic and static bearing numbers are attained than in prior art cage bearings by the fitting of a larger number of bearing bodies. This in turn permits higher permissible axial loads since the invention provides larger axial contact areas.
