Husks and other particles are removed from cocoa beans in an air-driven winnowing machine in which the husks are sucked by air through a pipe (9), the air pressure within which is measured by a sensor (3). The novelty is that a dust removal assembly (12) is located in the air pressure sensor (3) which is linked to the husk suction passage (9) through the pressure measuring pipe (11). Pref. the dust removal assembly (12) has an air blow pipe (13) with pressurised air link (14) directed into the pressure measuring pipe (11). USE/ADVANTAGE - The dust removal assembly (12) keeps the air pressure sensor (3) clean. The clean air pressure sensor ensures that accurate air pressure measurements are obtained, thus ensuring the continued correct operation of the husk abstractor.
