The representation method involves storing at least one line of video signals in digital form. The signals are read out from a memory and compared with a vertical frequency sawtooth signal, to provide a signal from which a further video signal is obtained for representation on a screen as successive lines. Pref. a rising edge of the signal provided by the comparator (16) is used to set a monostable multivibrator (17). Falling edges (18) of the signal similarly set a second monostable multivibrator. The output signals of both multivibrators are combined via a logic gate (19) and added to the original video signal. USE - For quality evaluation of TV or video signals.
