PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of outside scratches being the cause of the scattering of laser beams by providing an optical information recording medium with an inorganic hard coat layer on the outer surface. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 2 and a protective layer 3 are formed in this order on one side of a substrate 1 and the inorganic hard coat layer 4 is formed on the other side. Laser beams for reading in and reading out are radiated through the layer 4 and the substrate 1 to the recording layer 2. The hard coat layer 4 is made of SiO2 or the like and reduces outside scratches being the cause of the scattering of the laser beams and prevents the degradation of characteristics. |
