PURPOSE:To get an electric double layer capacitor where the solid active carbon electrode is hard to break even to vibration or shock by arranging glass mats at both ends of a group of solid activated carbon electrodes, and always applying pressure to this solid activated carbon electrodes in a group. CONSTITUTION:Glass mats 2 for example 1mm thick are arranged at both ends of a solid activated carbon electrode 1 so that the thickness may be 0.5mm by adding 300kg per 100cm<2>. The diameter of the glass fiber is, for example, 20mu, and the quality of material is acid-resistant alkali-free glass. A separator 3 of porous polypropylene is arranged around this, and they are accommodated in a vessel 4, and this separator 3, the opening is sealed with a cover 5 consisting of polypropylene by thermal fusion. And, a terminal 6 consisting of graphite is provided. Hereby, even in the application where vibration or shock is applied, the solid activated carbon electrode never breaks. |
