<p>PURPOSE:To read out a bar code precisely even if the bar code is printed by a dot printer so that a gap is generated between dots by making a detecting area equivalently longitudinal by a cylindrical lens or a prism to be vibrated. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical lens 24 which is a cylindrical substance having a semicircular section is fitted to an opening from which light of a reading sensor 23 is sent out and its axial direction is set to a rectangular direction to respective bars 25 constituting a bar code 22. Since the width of a detecting area 26 on the bar code 22 in a direction rectangular to a scanning direction almost coincides with the longitudinal length of respective bars 25, the detecting area 26 includes almost all dots and gaps (d) constituting respective bars 25. In addition, the output characteristics of an output terminal 36 increase the contrast between the bar part and the space part by regulating the value of a resistor 34 connected to a control power supply terminal 35 and reducing a voltage value. Even if there is a gap (d) between dots, the bar code 22 can be read out precisely.</p> |
