The video recorder housing (1) is of heat conducting material forming sidewalls (4) and a baseplate (2). Mounting pillars (5) are fixed to the baseplate and support a PCB (8) and a mechanical chassis (14). Protrusions (7) on the mounting pillars locate in holes (9) in the PCB. Spacers (15) support the mechanical chassis (14) which is fixed by screws (18). The PCB has electrical components and interconnections, and also field coils (12) for motors (17) located on the mechanical chassis. The motors are realised by the combination of rotors (17) and coils (12). ADVANTAGE - Compact, high density construction yet with reduced generation of heat.
