A tool is disclosed for removing or for treating highly resistant floor or wall coverings, in particular in industrial installations. In order to make such operations easier and to reduce the required equipment costs, several cutter arbors (6) with hard metal points, such as those used for road covering cutters, for example, are arranged together on a strip-shaped or plate-shaped support (4) designed and suitable for transmitting impact and/or vibration forces to the cutter arbors (6). The support may be designed as a chisel for manual or mechanical operation. It may also form the working member of a jolter, for example a plate vibrator.
