The top foil (F) is pressed down in the centre by the plate suction means of a foil lift unit (FH) so that the edges are raised and the friction roller is moved in. The roller is driven with a rotary direction (5) directed inwards at the circumference from the foil edge. The topmost intermediate layer is pressed down at the edge over the friction roller, the topmost foil (F) is lifted and the topmost intermediate layer is then removed. The intermediate layer released by the friction roller can be pressed further down by a brush on the roller and/or by blowing in air. USE/ADVANTAGE - Controlled automatic removal of intermediate layers of foils from stack for use in continuous production lines.
