Sync. digital hierarchy signal handling in switch matrix - dividing main signal into constituents of lower multiplex planes for double interpolation into transfer signals

A main signal of tributary unit gp. 3 contg. signals of the TU-3 multiplex plane is inserted as a whole into the transfer signals, whereas one contg. signals of category TU-12 is distributed amongst these for duplication in the transfer signals. In an example for two 48:16 switch matrices, a D(sub 4)39x signal has particular byte positions reserved for particular portions of three TUG-3 signals by suitable and (if desired) variable programming. ADVANTAGE - Esp. signals of different multiplex planes and bit rates can be switched without blocking even when representing useful load of common signal of higher multiplex plane.
