A baseplate (7) of electrically conductive sheet metal is stamped to provide a cable connection section (10) at one end with two projections (8,9) of unequal length. The other end forms a contact section (11) with an arcuate contact part (13) at the leading end of a wall (11a), and a pair of contact pieces (14,14') turned up at the trailing end. The forces exerted on the contact pieces by projections from an insertion pin are absorbed by special sections (15,15') turned back against their inside faces. ADVANTAGE - Highly reliable device maintains contact without significant damage to, or breakage of, insertion pin.
