Modified colour TV camera providing IR images - uses blue-cut filter limiting blue light range inserted in front of solid-state image sensor

The camera has a colour raster filter inserted in a light path in front of a solid state image sensor, dividing incident light into different spectral ranges, at least one of which is outside the visible light range. IR images can be provided by the camera by using a blue-cut filter which limits the blue light range, with no IR-cut filter inserted in front of the image sensor. Pref. the camera has an associated flash unit providing an IR light component operated in synchronism with the camera shutter. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides IR images for surveillance purposes by simple modification of standard camera. Good memory and access capabilities.
