A copier has a scanner camera for scanning documents (14) which can be lightened in order to be copied, optics (5) for the light-optical projection of the document and a photoelectric line sensor (2) at whose output (102) the electric signals of the individual scanning points are generated. The signal output of the line sensor (2) is directly linked to the input of the printing mechanism (100) of a conventional printer (101). In particular, the line sensor (2) is provided to be moved with a hydraulic drive. This scanner camera allow series of copies to be produced very quickly.
