Azo pigment preparations consisting essentially of a) an amide or a mixture of amides obtainable from the reaction a1) an amino carboxylic acid or a2) a lactam each in the presence of a long-chain primary or secondary aliphatic amine or a3) a dicarboxylic acid, a diamine and a long-chain primary or secondary aliphatic amine with one another, b) at least one diamine, c) at least one long-chain primary or secondary aliphatic amine, d) at least one azo pigment and also e) optionally further customary additives produce, on incorporation into halftone (illustration) intaglio (gravure) printing inks, high-gloss, strong prints which do not strike through even thin papers.
