1,202,296. Cyclone separators. N. A. L. WIKDAHL. 8 Oct., 1968 [17 Oct., 1967], No. 47721/68. Heading B2P. In a cyclone separator for cleaning fibre suspensions the separated light fraction, i.e. the cleaned fibre suspension, is discharged through a central outlet member 3, e.g. having a venturishaped nozzle channel 4, in which partitions 5 are arranged, e.g. radially, to divide the outgoing fraction into a number of parallel flows, the partitions being joined by a central nave part 6 which projects beyond the outer end 8 of the member 3 so as to constitute a distance piece for defining a spacing between the end 8 and a casing 7 in which the outlet member 3 is mounted. This arrangement causes the outgoing fraction to be spread radially outwards without risk of the fibres becoming twisted due to whirl formations. The cyclone may have one or more tangential inlets 2. A number of separators may be arranged with their outlet members mounted in a common casing. |
