Device for opening and closing of tap in metallurgical furnace contains a stabile holder carrying the upper arm (4) and bottom arm (24) independently rotarily placed with its one end on the holder. To the one of the arms (4) there is a driller (7) connected and to the second arm (24) there is the tap (25) of the tap connected. The trajectories of the arms (4, 24) oscillation are mutually inclined so that the driller (7) and the tap (25) can be moved to the rest positions in the levels suitable for operation and maintenance and each into the operational position in front the tap (3). The driller (7) is preferably connected to the upper arm (4). The connection between each arm (4, 24) and the holder is realised by two vertically placed rotary bearings (8, 9, 10 and 11) of the big diameter and driving system consisting of the two hydraulic cylinders (12, 13).
