PURPOSE:To provide an embedded quartz optical waveguide and it production which is strong against external stress, hardly causes peeling or cracking and can be easily handled during cutting or mounting process. CONSTITUTION:The embedded quartz optical waveguide consists of a substrate 1 and quartz glass formed on the substrate. The quartz glass consists of core part 15a, 15b for optical transmission, net-like anchor part 5 disposed in such a place where no optical coupling with the core 15a, 15b is produced, and quartz glass clad layer 3 which embeds the core part 15a, 15b and the net-like anchor part 5. |
