PURPOSE:To obviate the need of a position sensor and a mechanical return mechanism for returning to a specified range to simplify the system and to ensure that a motor returns to a specified range upon a failure by driving a stepping motor to a P range and then from P range position to specified range. CONSTITUTION:A stepping motor 6 is driven depending upon the operation of an operation part (operation switch) 3 to control the position of a mission. When a failure occurs, the stepping motor 6 is driven to return to a P range, and then a pulse corresponding to a shift from P range position to specified range is output to drive the stepping motor 6 to the specified range. This constitution obviates the need of a position sensor and a mechanical return mechanism for returning to a specified range to simplify the system and to ensure that the motor 6 returns to the specified range upon a failure. |
