PURPOSE:To execute self-diagnostic mode highly safely without causing a stand-by of an image formation processing. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine is connected to a host computer 50 via a telephone line 53 to be controlled intensively. When a signal for instructing a self-diagnosis is generated from the host computer 50, the copying machine executes a self diagnostic processing according to the prescribed program, and transfers the obtained data to the host computer 50. The copying machine is provided with person detecting sensors SE1, SE2, and SE3 and, when a person is detected by the sensors, the self-diagnostic processing is suspended or stopped. |
