METHOD OF TREATING BLOOD SAMPLE

PURPOSE: To optimize the capacity of a gel separation method using a chemical agent treating a blood sample prior to the modification and separation of a gel by bringing the blood sample into contact with a liquid selected from a group consisting of a hypertonic liquid containing a low mol wt. org. or ionic substance, an isotonic or hypertonic liquid containing a high mol. wt. org. substance and a blood corpuscle culture medium. CONSTITUTION: A liquid selected from a group consisting of a hypertonic liquid containing a low mol. wt. org. or inorg. ionic substance substantially compatible with blood corpuscles, an isotonic or hypertonic liquid containing a high mol. wt. org. substance substantially compatible with blood corpuscles and a blood corpuscle culture medium is brought into contact with a blood sample. The contact of the blood sample and the liquid is set to at least about 1min. The hypertonic liquid containing the low mol. wt. ionic substance is set to a physiological saline soln. and the ionic substance has a mol. wt. lower than about 1500. The high mol. wt. org. substance has an oleic group in its molecular structure and metrizoic acid and/or its derivative is designated.
