PURPOSE: To improve the operating speed of an image processing circuit by converting floating point data subjected to floating point arithmetic and core arithmetic into a form suitable for use by means of an image data utilizing means. CONSTITUTION: Before 8- or 16-bit integer data from an image memory are sent to a microprocessor 272, the data are converted into 32-bit floating point data by means of an input converter 271. The microprocessor 272 performs digit position and offsetting on the 32-bit floating point data. Successively to the digit position and offsetting, the microprocessor 272 interpolates the data. The degit-positioned, offset, and interpolated data are sent to an output converter 273. The converter 273 converts the 32-bit floating point data into 8-bit integer data. The integer data are combined into 64-bit words and stored in a displaying and storing device. |
