PURPOSE:To provide a radiation detector which blocks the generation of microphone noises with higher utilization efficiency of X rays. CONSTITUTION:In a radiation detector, a number of electrode plates 31 for applying a high voltage and electrode plates for fetching signals are arranged parallel alternately in a liner array within a high voltage container 30 and the container is sealed up with a high pressure gas of xenon or the like. The electrode plates 32 for fetching signals are made up of a metal foil with a thickness negligible and the electrode plates 31 for applying a high voltage is made up of a metal plate with a certain thickness.
