PURPOSE:To select whether or not there is a ruled line without the need to draw a ruled line by an operator and to prevent a character string from lengthening in spacing by previously preparing unit area patterns as units constituting a display area. CONSTITUTION:When an operator inputs a unit area pattern from an input device 4 and inputs characters, etc., constituting the display area in the selected unit area pattern, pertinent character codes are stored in a 3rd storage device 3. Then a controller 5 selects the inputted unit area pattern from a 2nd storage device 2, reads a mark corresponding to character codes, stored in a 3rd storage device storage device 3, out of a 1st storage device 1, and puts the selected unit area pattern and mark together and outputs them. At the time of this output, a ruled line controller 5C performs control for drawing a ruled line at the border between the outer periphery of the display area and the unit area pattern if a ruled-line ON indication is inputted, but forms a blank at the part corresponding to the ruled line when a ruled-line OFF indication is inputted. |
