PURPOSE:To obtain a print closer to handwritten characters by providing the character patterns of plural fonts and printing characters differing in pattern at random by utilizing random numbers. CONSTITUTION:A font part 4 is stored with, for example, a semi-cursive style of Chinese characters so that the characters are subdivided into three kind of character patterns A-C. When the font of output characters to a printer 5 is the semi-cursive style and the alteration of the font is not designated, the character patterns of the font A is selected. When the alteration of the font is designated, on the other hand, a random number obtained by a random number generating means (e.g. CPU 1 generating the random number by specific algorithm according to a random number generation program in a ROM 2) is divided by 3 and its remainder is utilized to determine the alteration of the character pattern. Namely, the semi-cursive style A when the remainder is 0, the semi-cursive style B when 1, or the semi-cursive style C when 2 is selected. |
