PRODUCTION OF NOZZLE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the excellent continuous casting nozzle by employing a low cost CaO raw material not producing troubles caused by the thermal expansion and the digestion. CONSTITUTION:A mixture comprising 2-20wt.% calcium compound having a melting point of <=1550 deg.C, 10-40wt.% graphite and the balance alumina as a main component is mixed with an organic binder, compacted and subsequently sintered in a nonoxidative atmosphere. Thereby, the nozzle having a large effect for preventing its clogging, balanced in both the corrosion resistance and the spalling resistance and used for continuous casting can be obtained at a low cost.
