<p>PURPOSE:To utilize metallic iron as raw material of iron-making by recovering volatile metals as raw zinc oxide from exhaust gas, melt-separating non-volatile materials into the metallic iron and slag and recovering. CONSTITUTION:Iron-making dust is agglomerated and the agglomerated dust is charged into a vertical reduction melting furnace together with lump coke and slag-making material to reduce the available metal. In such a way, the volatile metals of zinc, lead, cadmium, etc., are recovered as the crude zinc oxide from the exhaust gas. Further, the non-volatile materials are melt- separated into the metallic iron and the slag and recovered. In the iron-making dust agglomerate, powdery coke having the necessary quantity to reduce the oxide of the available metal in the agglomerated material is contained. Thus, the crude zinc oxide and the metallic iron can be recovered without depositing the iron-making dust on the inner surface of the furnace wall.</p> |
