NEW HUMAN INTERFERON-GAMMA POLYPEPTIDE

PURPOSE:To obtain a new human interferon-gamma polypeptide, having a specific amino acid sequence, capable of exhibiting antiviral and antitumor actions, etc., and mass-producible by expression of a plasmid containing a DNA integrated into the downstream side of a tryptophan promoter. CONSTITUTION:A DNA fragment capable of coding a human interferon-gamma polypeptide having an amino acid sequence expressed by the formula is linked to the downstream side of a tryptophan promoter in a vector and integrated into a plasmid to form a transformant plasmid, which is then transduced into a host such as Escherichia coli to transform the host. The transformed microorganism is then cultured in a culture medium to produce and accumulate a human interferon-gamma polypeptide in the culture. The produced human interferon-gamma polypeptide is then collected from the culture to afford the objective new interferon-gamma polypeptide capable of exhibiting various biological activities such as activating action on natural killer cell or macrophage and antitumor action and expressed by the formula.
