PURPOSE:To surely protect occupants by charging the inside of first and second chambers which communicate to the first and second opened ports for the injection of gas toward the driver and side parts, with each gas generating agent, and allowing the gas to flow into the first chamber through a communication port, after the ignition of the second chamber, and speedily developing an air bag sideways. CONSTITUTION:A first opening 24 is formed on a first chamber 20, and a second opening 30 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cover part of a second chamber 26. Between the first and second chambers 20 and 30, a communication port 34 having a plate or film 36 attached is drilled. A gas generating agent 28 in the second chamber 26 is ignited by an ignitor 32, and the gas is jetted to the side peripheral direction of an inflator from the second opening 30. When the gas pressure increases over a pressured pressure, the plate or the film 36 is broken, and the gas flows into the first chamber 20 through the communication port 34, ans a gas generating agent 22 is ignited, and the gas is jetted also from the first opening 24. |
