PURPOSE:To provide a desulfurization catalyst which can hydrogenate and desulfurize a hardly reactive sulfur compd. in a deep desulfurization region of a hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:This catalyst is a hydrogenation desulfurization catalyst for a hydrocarbon wherein at least one or two or more metals selected from metals of VIB, VIII and VA groups in the periodic table, or oxides, sulfides and salts thereof and a holmium compd. are carried on a fire-resistant carrier. Therefore, this hydrogenation desulfurization catalyst exhibits a remarkably higher desulfurization activity, a remarkably extended catalytic life, less decrease in hue and excellent long-term stability in comparison with the conventional hydrogenation desulfurization catalyst. |
