<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the conforming failure at the time of conforming sheets and the discharge failure at the time of discharging the sheets to a discharge tray, and perform a smooth discharge treatment by providing a discharge roller which is slightly longer than the maximum sheet width and has an uniform diameter in the sheet pushing directional end part of a sheet receiving base. CONSTITUTION:A sheet discharge device has a sheet receiving base 43 for receiving sheets carried from a body device; a sheet conforming means 50 for neatly arranging the sheets on the sheet receiving base 43; and a sheet pushing means for pushing the sheets conformed by the sheet conforming means 50. Further, the device has a discharge tray for receiving the sheets discharged from the sheet receiving base 43 by the sheet pushing means. In such a sheet discharge device, an uniform diameter discharge roller 75 having a shaft 74 in the sheet receiving base width direction and having a length slightly longer than the maximum sheet width is provided in the sheet pushing directional end part of the sheet receiving base 43.
