A rectangular casing (2) includes a first passage (9) whose ends are connectable to main (4) and emergency (5) air supplies. A piston (13) within the passage controls supply connection in response to pressure differences. A second passage (17) containing a second piston (18) is connected in parallel to the first. A further air circuit (31) defined by a longitudinal conduit (32) includes a piston (33) whose movements are controlled by pressure differences within the casing. This conduit is connected to the second passage by an intermediate passage (34) controlled by a push button (35) to prevent passage of air through an alarm whistle aperture (30).
